Disgraced Portuguese cop Goncala Amaral is desperate to appear with Madeleine McCann’s parents on Oprah.
Gerry and Kate McCann flew out to America yesterday.
They will appear on the TV show, hosted by Oprah Winfrey, 55, to mark the second anniversary of Maddie’s disappearance. And the couple will use the high-profile slot to release images of how Madeleine, who would be nearly six years old, may look now.
Amaral, kicked off the investigation after wrongly branding Gerry, 40, and Kate, 41, suspects, has emailed the show makers asking to appear.
He has offered to pay his travel costs and has yet to receive a response from the show. The McCanns agreed to appear on Oprah because it is shown in 144 countries.
They hope it will aid the hunt for Maddie, who vanished from Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007.
Kate and Gerry, from Rothley, Leics, wrote on the official Find Madeleine website: “As the second anniversary of Madeleine’s abduction approaches, there is much still to be done.
“We continue to remain focused on our aim – to find Madeleine and bring her back home safely.
“As Madeleine’s parents we cannot and will not ever stop doing all we can to find her.”
The couple have also been working with a C4 documentary crew.

I seem to be having a bit of a god slot today, not particularly intentional, apart from the "prayers" post of course, this next piece is about Leicester plod but when I checked up on Chief Constable Matt Baggott, the ubiquitous Sky Daddy pops his head up yet again.

To die before one's time is always a tragedy, to die in infancy and before your life even gets started is a tragedy without equal. The only blessing for Madeleine is that she cannot witness just how worthless her life to those in a position to give it value even in death.
A far greater blessing is that she can never witness the behaviour of her parents.

Stuart Prior and his colleagues were fully aware of these facts yet sat on their hands and did nothing-if LEICS police Genuinely BELIEVED that Madeleine had been abducted they should have immediately cautioned and countered the misinformation being spread by Clarence Mitchell and at the very least cautioned him regarding perverting the course of justice-if they know full well Madeleine is dead they should have cautioned him and informed the general public of the discrepancies in mrs xcoopers two disparate account -they sat on their hands and did neither-I am OFF TO the IPPC website

& last by no means least,
12) perverted the course of Justice by advising the T9 that they so no value in them returning to PDL for the reconstruction.
I know that there is an awful lot more, that is just for starters.
The LP have spent millions of pounds on the Investigation, but on what exactly & of what benefit to the investigation ? .

Gerry and Kate McCann's fury after 14 texts slur
Gerry McCann reacted angrily yesterday to claims he received a string of mystery texts the day before his daughter vanished.
Police applied to Portugal's supreme court to seize his phone records after learning of the alleged messages.
They claim Gerry was sent 10 texts from an unknown number 24 hours before Madeleine disappeared.
And detectives say four messages arrived from the same mystery number the day after she went missing, according to court documents.
But Gerry and wife Kate have dismissed the claims as "utter rubbish".
A source close to them said: "They have had their phone records available for inspection for months. But the police never asked for them. And now they have formally asked, they have been refused.
"Any suggestion of Gerry receiving 10 texts the day before Madeleine disappeared are utter rubbish.
"He hardly used his phone during the holiday and most of the friends with them didn't even have mobiles.
"The only time his phone rang was when work called and he explained he was on holiday. There are no mystery texts. Gerry has nothing to hide. It's yet more nonsense coming from Portugal." more

This sympathy coming in fact from people and places that are far from sympathetic to you, your husband and your deceitful ways, and it is to some degree that I would include myself among this group, we are after all just ordinary people who seek but two things.
Those two things, no let us make that three, we seek justice, though I don't know what the face of justice would look like in the case of your daughter, we certainly and unquestionably seek the truth, far too many people have been tainted and near ruined for us not to seek that elusive component in this sordid affair, and lastly and by no means least we seek to put a stop to this vile sham and despicable fraud that you are visiting on the gullible.
It was my original intention to write this note in a kindly manner, appealing to you in fact, appealing you to give up this ongoing deception that is fooling no one other than the foolish.
I think that most of us that have taken to concern ourselves with this case, rightly or wrongly believe that you, "us," and the rest of the world and the situation we find ourselves in is solely and equivocally the net result of subsequent actions taken by your husband since that fateful night.
As part of my appeal I was going to make mention of Robert Murat and how, to put it ever so politely, you wronged badly. But that said, part of my appeal for you to come forward and speak the truth would be, though mine not to give, forgiveness for the wrongs that you rained down on that poor man's head.
It was with this forgiveness in mind that prior to starting this letter I re-capped some of the things that you or "friends of Kate McCann" or a "source close to the family" still you in fact, had said about Robert Murat.
And having re-read this particular offending article Mrs McCann I can say but this, any degree of sympathy that I had begun to afford you has gone, unlike your phantom abductor of course, straight out of the window. This flight of my sympathies I might add, hurried on their way by the aura pathos you try to achieve in the accompanying photograph, when in actual fact all you did manage to achieve was indeed to look pathetic.
So now Mrs McCann no appeal from me, a warning perhaps, or better still let us call it advice, whether you perceive it as good advice is entirely up to yourself.
There is much talk on the internet that you are to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show, how true this is I know not for there is much writ on the net that cannot be believed, but what I say to you now you can believe and believe it without a shadow of doubt.
Should you appear so, to perpetrate your ongoing lies and to further perpetrate the fraud of the find Madeleine fund, should you do this, the animosity directed towards you that has previously been displayed on the web will then seem like a frolic through the glen compared to what will then befall you, any sympathy that might have been felt for you will vanish in an instant, the much sullied scales of justice will be held aloft by many and sympathy will be lost to you, every day for the rest of your sorry life.
Believe this, the quest for the truth will be in perpetuity, as we old ones fade away or die there will always be someone that will take up our fallen standard.
