A Considerate Criminal by Dr Martin Roberts

By Dr Martin Roberts28 October 2009

A CONSIDERATE CRIMINAL

No, not the ocean-going child trafficker selling his prey on to a comfortable life in the Antipodes. Nor yet the dark-skinned Algerian (mafia boss, drug dealer, child snatcher), who apparently could not have cared less whether Madeleine was 'placed' with paedophiles, a family, or even a family of paedophiles. The title concerns the individual who went to such extraordinary lengths, not simply to do his master's bidding, but to comply in a manner more thoughtful even than that of the parents whose child he was intent on appropriating.

The burglar's principle is akin to that of the professional boxer: Get in. Get the job done. Get out. No messing. Someone stealing a child from its own domicile (the rarest of child abduction scenarios) would surely not embellish the proceedings unnecessarily, any more than might a jewel thief. And yet, in the case of Madeleine McCann, we have a child removed from her bed, some would say by a stalker, in pursuance of an almost apologetic crime.

A 'cold case review', conducted for the Daily Express not long ago by Donal MacIntyre, found favour with investigators working for the McCanns. MacIntyre postulated that Madeleine's eventual abductor carried out a 'dry run' the evening beforehand, disturbing the children in the process. more

Quote Of The Month

No engrams had made themselves known to me during my self audit, so back into the coal shed went my trusty E-Meter, there to wait patiently until next called upon to guide me and show me safe passage through this wicked world.

What now says I? well that was a quandary soon dispelled after I took shufty, via the sitemeter, at the recent list of visitors to the blog and their referring links.

I had never noticed a visit from this place before, justice4mccannfam, it's not, could it be, perhaps it is? and though I had never visited the site previously, I was wary, it's reputation preceded it.

Better strap in first I think, I've done a bit of travelling in parallel universes and arrived at some very strange places indeed I might say.

Strap on the garden bench then, big breath, click, we're off!

And parallel universe it was, a truly staggering place, where reality was a stranger and truth had not yet broken through that next dimension, that dimension in which their world existed.

No link of course, the initial post I arrived at was forum/MBM latest news/ Filthy pitchforkers, and there kiddywinks you will discover worlds yet unknown to you.

And finally we get to this bit, the bit that inspired the post.

There was stuff I found there that amazed me, astounded me, but the last thing in the world I would want do is to paste it into these pages, but this little pearl I couldn't resist. not at all at all.

"To find the truth, then all evidence needs to be examined, and all possible leads looked at,not just the ones that make the McCanns look guilty."

New Blog; A Verdade Da Mentira - Illustrated Highlights

I thought a new blog might serve two purposes, the obvious one, getting some of the more interesting passages of Goncarlo Amaral's book, A Verdade Da Mentira - The truth About the Lie, out into the public domain, and the other, if I'm short of inspiration for the gallery and don't post, I can go to the book knowing I will always find a bit of something.

I won't be posting on there quite as regularly as the gallery, so pop in on occasion.

Oi! Steady On Now Monsieur Moreas

.
....Having myself not able to cope with an armada of lawyers, I will not comment. But for us French, the process of opening a commercial site * The online store of Madeleine (Madeleine The Online Store) seems a bit strange. It is hard to imagine parents doing business selling search posters (£ 1.75 for 10), bracelets, or t-shirts bearing the face of their missing child (£ 7) ... This is not really in our culture.

This is probably different in Britain ...
link Not an endorsement.

Oi! steady on now Monsieur Moreas, just steady on now lad, a person could take exception if he were so inclined.

But being possessed of a gentle and forgiving nature, I won't be harsh with you, and don't we all employ a little rhetoric on occasion?
For I am sure that we would be in accord where I say, that from the time when the first organism crawled out of the primordial soup to where we stand today as a species, never, never in those many thousands of years, never in all those millennia, has the world witnessed anything that remotely compares to the grotesque, to the obscene, or to the shameless vulgarity that is epitomised by the Madeleine McCann online store.

The sale of good quality wristbands and other fine branded merchandise, transcends race, transcends cultures, transcends borders, transcends continents even, but the things that it transcends unreservedly and above all others, are, dignity, taste, decency and morality, to mention but a few. And this Monsieur you know well, how could it be otherwise?

The Madeleine McCann online shop; nothing comes anywhere near, does it? as grotesque as it is unbelievable, the McCann's "Madeleine has been abducted" mantra and story had a purpose born out of necessity, to keep them out of goal, but the Madeleine McCann online store, it's peerless, it's head and shoulders above the rest, it is without compare.

And so it stands, tall and proud this this ungodly edifice, this memorial that the McCanns have built to edify the memory of their departed daughter.

Madeleine didn't deserve many things that befell her during her short life, but she didn't deserve this. she never did anything to deserve a shop; poor kid.

And this unique piece of marketing, brought to you by NHS Doctors Gerald Patrick McCann, and Kate Marie McCann (née Healy)

Madeleine McCann - Money Machine

Ways You Can Help

Many people have been deeply moved by Madeleine's abduction and subsequent separation from her family and have asked us how they can help us in our search to find her.
Below is a list of suggestions which you may wish to consider in order to help assist our efforts to find Madeleine and bring her home.
We really appreciate your help with this difficult task.

1. Donate to Madeleine's Fund ‘Leaving No Stone Unturned': This can be done via several routes including via the website.

2. Fundraising: This is a good way of getting people together, maintaining awareness of Madeleine's situation as well as raising money for Madeleine's Fund. For further information, please see ‘Fundraising' section under ‘Support' tab.

3. Wear a Madeleine wristband or T-shirt: Again this will increase awareness and contribute towards Madeleine's Fund, as well as being a show of solidarity.

4. Download the new age-progression poster of Madeleine from the website and display it in prominent places within the UK and abroad. The posters are available in many different languages and we would be really grateful if you would take them with you when going on your holidays. 1 in 6 children are found after their face being recognised from a poster. It really helps!!!

5. Car stickers, Luggage tags and Prayer cards: If you are going on holiday, in addition to the new posters you could take one of our Madeleine car stickers to display in your (hire) car. If you would like some car stickers or some Madeleine luggage tags, please contact our campaign email address and leave your details-xxxxx

If you are going on a pilgrimage this year, we would be grateful if you would take some Madeleine prayer cards with you for distribution. These are available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German. Again, please send us your details via the campaign email address-xxxxxx

You iniquitous piece of shit.

6. Ideas / Offers of Assistance: If you have any ideas or specialist skills (printing, fundraising, IT skills, haulage firms etc) and are willing to help us in our search for Madeleine (campaign or investigation), please email your details to xxxxxx

7. Carry a Madeleine ‘business card' in your wallet or purse at all times (available June 2009). This will allow you to have instant access to a photograph of her and the investigation contact number, should you see a little girl who looks like Madeleine or anything else which you consider suspicious and related to her disappearance. Alternatively, transfer a photograph of Madeleine to your mobile phone and save the investigation helpline number in your contacts.

8. Social networking sites: If you are a member of ‘facebook', ‘myspace' or other social networking sites, maybe you could add a Madeleine banner to your site and make the ‘find madeleine' site your top ‘friend' or put it on your home page.

9. Encourage others to help:
· Contact your friends and family especially those living in other parts of Europe and beyond and ask them if they're willing to help us in our search too.
· If you have any business contacts at home or overseas ask if they'll carry the Madeleine poster on their website and/or a link to the official website.
· If there is a tourist information office near to where you live, maybe you could ask if they would display a Madeleine poster in their office or make posters available for foreign tourists to take back home with them
· If you are a university student or have contact with a university, we would be grateful if you could ask any students who are travelling abroad to take posters with them to distribute on their travels.
· Talk to 5 people today about Madeleine and remind them she is still missing!

10. Join Support Groups: The ‘Helping to Find Madeleine' group was set up independently shortly after Madeleine's abduction, by caring people wanting to help with the search for Madeleine. The organisation has helped support our campaign over the past 2 years. Please visit www.helpingtofindmadeleine.org

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us. It is incredibly reassuring that so many people our trying to find Madeleine. Please keep looking and thinking. Madeleine needs our help. Thank you.

Fund Raising

We thank you for your interest in fund raising to support Madeleine's fund. Many donations have resulted from a variety of fund raising events. These have included Car Boot sales, jumble sales, school cake sales, race nights, sponsored runs & cycle events, ‘dress down' days, auctions & ‘cheese & wine' nights.

These events have further highlighted Madeleine's plight as well as bringing many people together to have fun whilst working towards one common goal.

We would be grateful if you are considering fund raising that you do not refer to Madeleine's fund as a registered charity as it is not. The McCann's "We will go to the ends of the Earth" Gallery

Mr McCann said their ordeal has been "almost unbearable"

He said: "Any parent will understand we will do anything to get that child back. We will go to the ends of the Earth."

Followed in the same breath by what has to be the quote of all time.

Wife Kate added: "We're Madeleine's parents; if we're not there for her, who is?"

In no particular order.
