Speaking of Creatures

As I did in my previous post, a little insight as to how they scurry along and a good opportunity to employ a graphic from yesterday.

British lawyers Carter Ruck maliciously claim a copyright violation in order to have website suspended

British libel law firm Carter Ruck has written to the website hosting company and made a bogus claim of a copyright violation over three images of Madeleine McCann in their latest efforts to have a website shut down.

They claim that the three images are owned by Kate and Gerry McCann and that the use of the images was unauthorized.

The images in question are a composite image on the homepage of the site at www.madeleinefoundation.org and two photographs of a book written by Madeleine Foundation secretary Tony Bennett.

But we can reveal this claim to be bogus.

The official Find Madeleine website used by the McCanns to fund their so-called "search for Madeleine" has a free downloads page with various posters including the images of Madeleine. The images are therefore freely available in the public domain and are being given out by the complainants Kate and Gerry McCann.

The McCanns do not want the Madeleine Foundation website online and have recently demanded that the site be taken down after they sent threatening letters to secretary and chairperson Tony Bennett and Debbie Butler.

The Madeleine Foundation believes the theories of the main investigating officers on the missing Madeleine McCann case in Portugal. Inspector Amaral and Chief Inspector Almeida came to the conclusion that Madeleine McCann died in the apartment while on vacation with her family in May 2007. Despite overwhelming evidence, the British government intervened to frustrate and hamper the case and it forced the investigation to be shelved.

Former British attorney Tony Bennett wrote a book highlighting the major discrepancies in the McCanns' alibi and thousands of copies of the book have already been sold.

A new book "Madeleine McCann: Faked Abduction" is soon to be released in the USA. The book expands on Tony Bennett's lead and demonstrates how the McCanns and their friends have avoided any charges while at the same time receiving substantial aid from the British Government, including lots of personal involvement from Prime Minister Gordon Brown. freepress.com

I have no doubt we will be able to sustain a high profile for Madeleines disappearance in the long term.

One good thing to come out of all of this is that there is so much in the press, nobody knows what is true, and what isn't.

It is very encouraging that Mr. Rebelo's officers will be seemingly reviewing all the material in the inquiry, which will hopefully identify areas for further investigation.

After 5 or 6 weeks things went very quiet and I was actually quite glad of that, we could get back to a more normal existance and a quieter form of campaigning... broader political issues, etc.

The iris is Madeleine's only true distinctive feature. Certainly we thought it was possible that this could potentially hurt her or the abductor might do something to her eye. But in terms of marketing, it was a good ploy.

There's not a day that goes by that I think to myself why did I think that was okay? Was I wrong in thinking that was okay? All I can think to myself is I know how much I love my children, and I know I am a responsible parent.

I wish I could roll back time and go back to the day before Madeleine was abducted. I would slow down time. I would get a really good look around and have a really good think. And I'd think: Where are you? Who are you? Who is secretly watching my family? Because someone was watching my family very, very carefully. And taking notes.

This is my job now. I can see this becoming my full-time career, with this whole issue of child welfare and opposing paedophiles.

Kate and Gerry are not accused of any crime whatsoever.
Neither is there any suggestion that any charges are being considered.

This is not only extremely hurtful to Kate and Gerry but totally disrespectful to Madeleine.

The magazine had not sought permission to use Madeleine’s image and the McCanns’ lawyers were now studying the publication.

Kate and Gerry are realistic enough to know that Madeleine may be dead and it would be a tragedy that she is found as such, because it rules out the hope that she is alive... But any widening of the search area is encouraging and we would welcome that. If she is dead then she is dead, but not by their hand.

No decision has been taken on Kate's future yet. She hasn't approached, or been approached by, any children's charities.

It is true that we have requested a meeting with the prime minister to show him the strength of our case, to explain Kate and Gerry's innocence and yet all we've been offered is a medium-level-consular meeting, which we rejected.
